Ken Kunin
Our Head of School, Ken Kunin, has had a distinguished career as an educator in the United States and internationally. Mr. Kunin is proud to have taught every level from Pre-Kindergarten to Graduate School, including elementary and middle school special education. Over the past thirty-two years, Mr. Kunin has served as principal, director and superintendent in five very different organizations with linguistically and culturally diverse enrollments in the U.S. and internationally at the American Overseas School of Rome. Most recently he served for six years as Superintendent of the South Portland Schools, a district in the U.S. state of Maine. Mr. Kunin graduated from Brown University and has advanced degrees in Special Education from Lesley University and in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern Maine. He juggles life with his wife, Beth Stickney, an immigration law policy expert, and their 21 year old child Simi, a musician who works in a veterinary emergency care center. Mr. Kunin is also a juggler. Having briefly earned a living as a traveling performer after college, he continues juggling to this day.
