Parent-teacher conferences are right around the corner. Our conference days begin with Elementary school on Thursday, October 10, and continue for all divisions on Friday, October 11, and Monday 14. We look forward to all families meeting with their children's teacher(s) to gain a richer picture of their learning. After all, we are partners in your child's education, including the students themselves!
At Nido, we empower students to be leaders of their learning. They actively participate in these conversations, and in many grades, they lead the meeting from start to finish.
These conferences allow families to strengthen relationships with their children and teachers while learning more about students' growth. To make the most of them, you can do a few things.
First, prepare in advance. Reflect on your child's learning journey so far this year. Think about what has gone well and where they may have faced challenges. Write down any questions you may want to ask your child about their progress and how they might continue to grow as a learner.
Approach the conference with an open mind and a willingness to listen. We are partners in supporting your child's growth. Focus on the process and progress towards the learning goals. Grades are just one reference point.
Take notes, and after the conference, continue the conversation at home. Provide a supportive environment and continue to monitor progress and growth.
And last but not least, arrive on time. It shows respect for everyone's schedule and ensures you have plenty of time to hear from your children and their teachers.
Remember, parent-teacher conferences are a valuable opportunity to strengthen home-school partnerships. By working together, we can ensure the success and well-being of every student.
