After completing their final classes and exams, our seniors spent some of their last days at Nido participating in one of the most memorable traditions of their High School journey: Senior Week Without Walls.

This week, students embarked on their final adventure together, choosing from six unique programs designed to promote exploration, connection, learning, and personal growth. With three international and three local options, students could celebrate the end of their Nido experience in ways that reflected their interests and passions.

For the international programs, students traveled to Panama, Mexico, and Costa Rica.

In Panama, students worked toward their Open Water or Advanced Open Water Dive Certification, mastering essential scuba skills, learning how to safely use diving equipment, practicing buoyancy control, and exploring marine ecosystems through exciting dives alongside their classmates.

In Mexico, students experienced a journey filled with adventure and cultural discovery. Activities included interactive city tours in Mexico City, a nighttime mountain hike, a traditional Mexican sauna, pre-Hispanic cave games near ancient pyramids, rappelling and swimming beneath waterfalls, riverboat tours, and even learning how to make traditional Mexican tortillas.

Meanwhile, students in Costa Rica immersed themselves in sustainability and outdoor adventure. Their experience included jungle hikes, whitewater rafting, ziplining through the forest canopy, visits to animal rescue centers, volcanic hot springs, and hands-on experiences learning how Costa Rican coffee, chocolate, and sugar cane are produced.

Students who stayed in Chile also had meaningful and enriching experiences through three local programs.

The Habitat for Humanity program in Santiago gave students the opportunity to directly support a child with a disability by helping to build a bedroom, emphasizing service, empathy, and community impact.

The Cultural Santiago program invited students to rediscover the richness of Chile through city tours, visits to museums and the Cementerio General, a cable car ride up Cerro San Cristóbal, a boat tour of Valparaíso Bay, and a visit to Pablo Neruda’s home in Isla Negra.

For students who chose Kitchen Club, the week was centered around creativity and collaboration in the kitchen. Through hands-on cooking classes led by professional chefs, students learned recipes step by step while developing teamwork, organization, and culinary skills — enjoying the dishes they prepared together each day.

As our seniors approach graduation, Senior Week Without Walls serves as a meaningful final chapter in their High School experience: a time to strengthen friendships, embrace new challenges, reflect on their growth, and create lasting memories together before beginning the next stage of their journeys.
