On October 4 and 5, Nido hosted the first SENIA event in South America. The two-day event featured a cornerstone course from SENIA's Level One Certification Program, focusing on Understanding and Supporting Behavior. This intensive training was aimed at directly benefiting our students and school community in several ways:
1. Skill Development: The course introduced advanced tools for addressing challenging behaviors, conducting Functional Behavior Assessments, and creating effective Behavior Intervention Plans. These skills are crucial for maintaining a positive learning environment for all students.
2. Networking Opportunities: The event brought together educators from across the region, allowing for a valuable exchange of ideas and best practices in inclusive education between teachers and leaders from Nido (30), The American International School of Buenos Aires—Lincoln School (5), Santiago College (4), The Grange School (2), and International Schools Services (ISS).
3. Certification Progress: Completing this course contributed to SENIA Certification—Level One, which demonstrated our school's commitment to professional growth and excellence in inclusive education.
4. Current Trends: Discussions on the latest developments in inclusive education will help keep our school at the forefront of best practices.
We are excited about the opportunity to bring back fresh insights and strategies to implement in our classrooms.
