This Saturday, June 14, Nido is proud to host the final round of the English Speaking Union's (ESU) Creative Writing Competition!
Twenty talented young writers, including Nido's very own Josefa and Bomin, will be joining us to write short stories on the theme of "Legacies," chosen to celebrate the ESU's 20th anniversary.
These Nido eighth-graders advanced to the finals after submitting their original short stories, "Shell" by Josefa and "When I Was You" by Bomin, which were selected as top submissions among many entries exploring the competition’s theme.
The final round promises an exciting challenge: participants will receive a surprise prompt on the day of the event and have only a few hours to craft an entirely new and original story. While the judges deliberate, students will have the unique opportunity to hear from Mr. Christopher Davenport, a published author and valued member of the Nido community, who will share insights from his own writing journey.
We're anticipating a day brimming with creativity, inspiring stories, and a wonderful celebration of the written word!
Good luck, Josefa and Bomin! The entire Nido community is cheering you on!
