Nido students, parents, the NPA, and staff are sponsoring 38 students from the Recaredo Vigueras Araneda School in Santa Juana and the República de Panamá School in Tomé, which were affected by the fires over the summer.
In January, teachers from these schools attended Nido’s Summertown English program and kept in touch with our faculty. So, when the fires hit their community, Nido staff contacted them to see how we could help. That’s how different community members campaigned to provide them with clothing, backpacks, school supplies, and other items.
Next week we will be shipping the goods to Santa Juana and Tomé. If you would like to contribute, you can make a cash donation to fund the shipping costs and purchase of other school supplies they still need.
