The International School Nido de Aguilas

Thursday marks the final day of the Nido Autumn Book Fair—our way of celebrating books throughout April, a month dedicated to reading, literacy, and authors.

Organized by the Media Center, this year’s fair offers a thoughtfully curated program designed to deepen students’ love of reading while exploring themes of civic and personal responsibility—highlighting how stories help us understand our role in a community and the impact of our choices.

Throughout the week, students have taken part in a variety of engaging experiences. Our youngest learners enjoyed an enchanting Autumn Musical Storytime led by Vaimoana Heyman, where storytelling came alive through music, movement, and imagination. Elementary students also participated in immersive Spanish read-aloud sessions in collaboration with Centro Lector de Lo Barnechea, fostering a deeper appreciation for language and literature.

A special highlight was the launch of The Birds in Our Nest, an NPA coloring book and postcards inspired by photographs from Nido parent Wu Jing, celebrating the rich birdlife found on our campus. Students also explored a wide selection of new titles from our guest bookshops, using Wish Lists to track their favorite picks before returning with their families to choose their next great read.
