As part of their unit, "The Actor," K2 students spent the past two months learning how to recognize, express, and understand feelings—not just in themselves, but also in others and in the characters they encounter in stories. They’ve explored how authors craft narratives, how actors bring characters to life, and how stories create meaning through emotion and imagination.

This week, the unit culminated in a magical celebration of learning: the students wrote, directed, and starred in their very own plays! Performed on stage in the Nido Theater, these original productions showcased their growing confidence and creativity in front of an enthusiastic audience of families, teachers, and peers.

Here’s a glimpse into the unique and imaginative stories brought to life by each class:

K2A: “Time-Traveling Scientists and Dinosaur Friends”
Three adventurous scientists invent a time machine and travel back to the age of dinosaurs, where they meet a variety of creatures—some friendly, others a little frightening! With the help of fairies, a surprise visit from Pikachu, a mysterious alien, and even two astronauts dodging asteroids, the scientists embark on a fast-paced journey filled with sound effects, lights, and unexpected twists. It’s a prehistoric adventure like no other!

K2B: “From Dark to Light”
In this enchanting tale, a forest lost in darkness is transformed by two brave bunnies determined to bring back the light. Along their journey, they meet mermaids, flying pandas, astronauts, and more—each helping to spread joy, color, and hope. Through courage, creativity, and teamwork, the forest becomes a vibrant, happy place once again. This play is a joyful celebration of friendship and imagination.

K2C: “The K2C Play!”
A sunny day at the beach in Japan turns into a wild adventure when a group of sneaky criminals and ninjas escape from jail and bring chaos to the shoreline! With sandcastles, volleyball, and beach games interrupted, it’s up to the beachgoers to restore order and fun. This original story combined action, humor, and a lively cast of characters for an unforgettable performance.
