NIDO SURF CLUB 2018-2019

ALOHA!

The Nido Surf club is open to HS students (all grades) this 1st semester & MS students (7 & 8 Grades) during 2nd semester. This club will be appropriate for surfers of all skill levels.

Students can actively be involved by taking a position within the club as an officer. Currently, HS student Ignacia Larrain is the Club Captain and HS student Antonia Ramirez is the Club Promoter. Students are given the opportunity to help organize and plan events, as well as help recruit additional members and sponsors. Parents & Teachers can be involved by becoming chaperones or assistant coaches. To ensure a successful program. Email me if interested (lpacheco@nido.cl).

This initiative offers 20 seats to enjoy eco-tourism sports trips visiting a variety of beaches close to Santiago with consistent and safe surf. We will learn about the nature of the Pacific ocean and experience how surfing has evolved from a lifestyle and competitive sport to a popular tourism adventure activity. To start this first semester we invite HS students to read the program and complete the following form to help us accommodate your surfing schedule.

Registrations for the first Surf trip (Maitencillo) close on October 17th.

**Cost is per student

Sincerely,

Lucero Pacheco

WELCOME BACK FROM HS PRINCIPAL MCKENNA

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I love the start of school. It brings with it a new sense of possibility, excitement, and challenge.

WELCOME BACK FROM MS PRINCIPAL SHAWE

I trust that your child enjoyed the winter break – traveling, reading (I hope!), sleeping a bit later – and that she/he returned home today excited about the start of the new school year.

WELCOME BACK FROM ES PRINCIPAL JAMES

I hope your vacations were restorative and included plenty of family time and positive memories. One of my favorite parts about a new school year, is hearing all of the stories from students as I walk the playground and through classrooms.

WELCOME BACK FROM EYS PRINCIPAL COTA

One of my favorite aspects of working within the Early Years School (EYS) is being able welcome the new and returning students to the EYS. It is such a joy to see the excitement and sometimes the apprehensive looks upon their faces as they enter their classrooms filled with new friends, teachers and environments.

WELCOME BACK FROM ATHLETICS

At Nido, Athletics plays an important role in our community and especially in our student athletes' lives. We offer structured, organized sports and ongoing physical activities.
