Headmaster Transition

The Board of Directors at the International School Nido de Aguilas has announced that Dr. Ralph Maurer will be departing Nido with his family in December 2017 to relocate to the United States. Dr. Maurer will be joining Oxbridge Academy of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach, Florida as Head of School-Elect in January 2018 and as Head of School beginning July 2018. During Dr. Maurer's tenure he began a strategic planning process resulting in Nido's new and ambitious mission, vision, and core values. From this, the School embarked on a series of transformational initiatives that have positioned Nido as an example in Chile and in international education. We appreciate his leadership and wish him and his family all of the best in their next venture.

Nido is pleased to announce that David Perry has been appointed Acting Headmaster, effective January 2018. David is currently Assistant Headmaster and High School Principal at Nido. David arrived at Nido on July 2014, was Co-chair of the NEASC Accreditation Committee, worked hand-in-hand with current Headmaster Dr. Ralph Maurer on the Strategic Planning process, and has been an active participant in the deployment of the initiatives that are currently shaping and transforming our School. His leadership experience at the School, knowledge of our School culture, commitment to current initiatives and close work with Dr. Maurer and the Board, will enable him to lead in carrying forward the important work already put into motion.
