CLASS OF 2017 CHILEAN UNIVERSITY RESULTS

Students from the Class of 2017 began the next chapter of their education this week as they attended their first university classes in Chile.

Our 25 students who elected to stay in Chile were accepted to the best universities. Nearly half will attend Universidad Católica or Universidad de Chile, and the rest were accepted to other prestigious universities, including Universidad Adolfo Ibañez, Universidad Diego Portales, and others. Of the students attending university in Chile, 80% applied through the PSU, and 20% applied through Special Admissions with the IB Diploma or Nido Academic Diploma. Students are studying in a multitude of areas including Business, Civil Engineering, Political Science, Psychology, and Language & Literature. Of our 25 students, 76% reported they were accepted to their first choice in University and area.

Nido's PSU ranking has steadily risen since the establishment of the Academia PSU Nido. In 2016 Nido ranked 25 of all high schools in Chile, and this year climbed to 20. These excellent PSU results and university acceptances prove that students can take advantage of the unique educational experience the Nido de Aguilas offers and at the same time be successful in the Chilean educational system.

Congratulations to our Nido graduates in Chile during your first week of classes! We know each of you will continue to spread the Nido Way throughout your studies and careers.

WELCOME BACK FROM HS PRINCIPAL MCKENNA

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I love the start of school. It brings with it a new sense of possibility, excitement, and challenge.

WELCOME BACK FROM MS PRINCIPAL SHAWE

I trust that your child enjoyed the winter break – traveling, reading (I hope!), sleeping a bit later – and that she/he returned home today excited about the start of the new school year.

WELCOME BACK FROM ES PRINCIPAL JAMES

I hope your vacations were restorative and included plenty of family time and positive memories. One of my favorite parts about a new school year, is hearing all of the stories from students as I walk the playground and through classrooms.

WELCOME BACK FROM EYS PRINCIPAL COTA

One of my favorite aspects of working within the Early Years School (EYS) is being able welcome the new and returning students to the EYS. It is such a joy to see the excitement and sometimes the apprehensive looks upon their faces as they enter their classrooms filled with new friends, teachers and environments.

WELCOME BACK FROM ATHLETICS

At Nido, Athletics plays an important role in our community and especially in our student athletes' lives. We offer structured, organized sports and ongoing physical activities.

WELCOME BACK FROM THE ARTS

The Fine Arts Building Office would like to extend our welcome for the 2018-2019 school year. We'd like to invite you to the artistic activities we have scheduled throughout the year in hopes of counting with your presence as its the motivation and drive for our young artists.
