ARTS SHOWDOWN | MAY 10, 2018

Nido's much anticipated Arts Showdown event is coming up on Thursday, May 10 in the Arts Building. There will be wine, hors d'oeuvres, and a vibrant atmosphere full of art, music, and fun.

Over 40 pieces from established Chilean artists including Alexander Sutulov, Flavia Totoro, Adrian Gouet, Claudio Herrera, Sebastian Mejia, Bruna Truffa, Pablo Contreras, Antonia Daiber, Jorge Milosevic, and more will be featured in the premium silent auction that runs throughout the night, focused on the theme of Landscapes: Real, Metaphoric, and Imagined.

Art donated by the Nido community will be raffled off "Smash & Grab" style. Each purchased raffle ticket guarantees you will go home with a piece of art. Tickets are drawn at random during the party, with the first to get his or her name called getting their first choice of art on display and so on. Raffle tickets will be sold at the event only for $20,000 CLP, first come-first serve. Raffle tickets are not included with the entrance ticket. Entrance tickets are $15,000 early bird or $20,000 after April 20.

Proceeds from the event will go towards enhancing the Arts program at Nido. Initiatives such as engaging with local artists to provide community workshops, lecture series, and critiques will take our Arts to a new level.

WELCOME BACK FROM HS PRINCIPAL MCKENNA

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I love the start of school. It brings with it a new sense of possibility, excitement, and challenge.

WELCOME BACK FROM MS PRINCIPAL SHAWE

I trust that your child enjoyed the winter break – traveling, reading (I hope!), sleeping a bit later – and that she/he returned home today excited about the start of the new school year.

WELCOME BACK FROM ES PRINCIPAL JAMES

I hope your vacations were restorative and included plenty of family time and positive memories. One of my favorite parts about a new school year, is hearing all of the stories from students as I walk the playground and through classrooms.

WELCOME BACK FROM EYS PRINCIPAL COTA

One of my favorite aspects of working within the Early Years School (EYS) is being able welcome the new and returning students to the EYS. It is such a joy to see the excitement and sometimes the apprehensive looks upon their faces as they enter their classrooms filled with new friends, teachers and environments.

WELCOME BACK FROM ATHLETICS

At Nido, Athletics plays an important role in our community and especially in our student athletes' lives. We offer structured, organized sports and ongoing physical activities.

WELCOME BACK FROM THE ARTS

The Fine Arts Building Office would like to extend our welcome for the 2018-2019 school year. We'd like to invite you to the artistic activities we have scheduled throughout the year in hopes of counting with your presence as its the motivation and drive for our young artists.
