Elementary School Athletics
Our new Elementary Competitive Sports Program is designed in alignment with the Nido Athletic Philosophy, focusing on student growth, learning, and personal development. Practices will take place after school in our premier facilities, providing students the opportunity to participate in age - and developmentally-appropriate - competitions, games, and tournaments.
Team Selection & Sports Offered
Elementary students will have the chance to tryout for competitive teams at the start of each semester. Team options will be available in the following sports:
- Football (Grades 4-5)
- Basketball (Grades 4-5)
- Volleyball (Grades 4-5)
- Tennis (Grades 4-5)
- Swimming (Grades 2-5)
- Gymnastics (Grades 2-5)
During tryouts, our experienced coaching staff will be assessing experience level, fundamental skills, understanding, attitude, sportsmanship, teamwork, coachability, and effort, among other factors. Students who consistently bring a positive attitude, maximum effort, display great teamwork, and are coachable always stand out.
Eagle Explore Sports
The Eagle Explore Sports program is delivered through the regular ASA program, providing elementary students with numerous opportunities to participate and play in our inclusive and developmentally-appropriate program. Many of our varsity athletes participate as student-coaches, inspiring our younger generation of Nido champions. Sports available to all students through the Eagle Explore program include: football, Swimming, tennis, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, track & field, rugby, and field hockey.
Our Commitment to a Positive Sports Experience
Our goal is to ensure each child is placed in the most supportive and developmentally appropriate group. Whether through our competitive ES program or our Eagle Explore sports program, every child will have opportunities to learn, grow, build confidence, and enjoy sports.
