Eagle Explore Sports

The International School Nido de Aguilas is excited to introduce our new Eagle Explore Sports program in the elementary school this year. Consisting of three distinct seasons, students in grades K2-5 will have the opportunity to participate in this fun, community-based sports league. Designed to be a positive learning experience and a developmental, recreational team-sports season, players will be introduced to skills and strategies, practice with their peers, play games and matches, and compete in an end-of-season tournament! Students of all abilities and levels of experience are encouraged to sign up and will be accommodated and challenged by our team of experienced coaches and enthusiastic varsity athletes.

This year we will roll out the first three sports of the program, approximately 10-weeks each per season, including football (soccer), volleyball, and basketball. These Nido pathway sports run all the way through the high school athletic program and are included within our SAAC organization. More pathways sports will be introduced in the Explore Sports program next school year, and most other sports and activities will still be available through the ES ASA program this semester.

ES Explore Football (August 10th 2022 - October 22nd 2022)

The Eagle Explore Football (Soccer) season kicks off the new elementary school sports program, and you won’t want to miss out! Everyone in grades K2-5 with a passion or curiosity for football is encouraged to join this spirited recreational league. Coaches from the Andres Diaz Academy will team up with some of our inspirational varsity boys and girls football players to deliver a program full of fun, learning, and Nido values.

The ES football season will run August 10 - October 22, 2022, and registration opens August 1st. Participating students will enjoy two sessions per week, with full access to Nido’s premier football pitches and uninterrupted training days and times. Wednesday practices (14:40-16:10) combine age-appropriate skill progressions, team building games, and match theory with fun challenges and competitions for every level. Every Saturday students will participate in modified games, competitions, and matches, leading into a small league and final tournament (COVID protocols permitting).

Every student and skill level will be accommodated, with the aim of delivering an enriching, enjoyable, and positive experience for all. Eagle Explore Football will instill a passion for the beautiful game, develop fundamental skills and provide a welcoming team experience.. Students will receive a practice shirt, team uniform, and special gift at the end of the season. Most importantly, Eagle Explore Football will provide much-needed fun and activity, while playing together with Nido friends and peers!

ES Explore Volleyball (November 2nd 2022 - March 18th 2023)

The Eagle Explore Volleyball season swoops into the new elementary school sports program, and your child won’t want to miss out! Everyone in grades K2-G5 with a passion or curiosity for volleyball is encouraged to join this spirited community recreational league. Coaches from the Nido’s own MS/HS program will team up with some of our inspirational HS varsity players to deliver a program full of fun, learning, and Nido values.

The ES volleyball season will run November 2, 2022 - March 18, 2023, and registration will open October 17th. Participating students will enjoy two sessions per week, with exclusive access to all of Nido’s premier gyms and courts, with dedicated training days and times. Wednesday practices (2:40-4:10 pm) will combine age-appropriate skill progressions, team building games, and match theory with fun challenges and competitions for every level. Every Saturday students will participate in modified games, exciting competitions, and volleyball matches. The latter half of the program leads into a small league format and a final tournament (COVID protocols permitting).
