Admissions FAQ

The admissions process consists of five steps and, in most cases, everything can be done online:

• Read the Institutional Educational Project
• Submit the online application form
• Pay the application fee
• Upload the required documents (these vary depending on the division to which you are applying), but include a copy of your ID, previous transcripts, letters of recommendation, and other evaluations/exams taken.
• Complete the evaluations requested by the Admissions Committee.

The documents required in the application process will depend on the division your child is applying to. In general the required documents include a copy of your child's ID, transcripts for the last 2 years in the case of EYS & ES aplicants and 3 years in the case of MS & HS applicants,  letters of recommendation, and other evaluations/exams taken.

Students transferring from a March to Devember calendar are adjusted back a semester. Students will always be evaluated to determine the best placement according to their developmental age. 

Our vacancies change frequently due to the international nature of our school.

For the 2024-2025 school year, our Kinder 2 and grade 3 are nearing capacity; grade 4 does not have spots available.

Please contact the Admissions Office for specific course openings and information on support programs.

Nido has rolling admissions and accepts applications throughout the school year. 

Please note High School students are required to start at the beginning of the semester in order to earn the appropriate credits for graduation.

Please consider arriving 1 week prior to the beginning of the school year for New Student and Parent Orientation. Any additional placement interviews and evaluations may also be completed during this time.

Nido follows a US-based calendar adjusted to the Chilean seasons. Our first semester is from August to December; the second semester is from February to June.

ALL HS students accepted to Nido must attend New Student Orientation and start the first day of the semester. 

ALL HS students are required to bring their OFFICIAL HS transcript or send a digital copy to the HS Counseling Office.

Your child may be interested in pursuing our IB Diploma Program. Please note that enrollment in this program will be determined in consultation with our HS counselors after you arrive in Chile. The decision is dependent upon determining the best possible strategy for university application options and ultimate success.

​​​​​Nido is a certified IB World School and offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in 11th and 12th grade.

Please note that transferring mid-diploma program is very difficult. If your 11th grader is currently in the IBDP program please contact our Admissions Office to see if transfer into our IBDP program would be possible.

Early Years and Elementary School

Students in the EYS & ES are required to wear any combination of the Nido uniform daily. Hats are encouraged outside the classroom for protection from the sun. Students should wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle. In cold weather students may wear winter jackets of their choice; however, the only Nido sweatshirts are permitted.

Uniform Options:

• Blue with red piping Nido athletic shirts (short and long-sleeve)

• Blue, grey, or red Nido t-shirts

• Blue or grey Nido hooded sweatshirts

• Nido navy fleece zip-up

• Nido logo or plain navy pants, leggings, or shorts

Middle & High School

Nido does not require Middle and High School students to wear a school uniform. The Nido uniform or spirit-wear is required for PE class. Students and their parents are asked to comply with what Nido considers to be an appropriate dress and personal appearance code for the School ("Dress/Appearance Code"). 

Uniforms are available at Scolari (located at Balmoral 163, Las Condes, phone +56-2-2212-8540). Uniforms can be purchased online or in person.

Nido offers a lunch service for all grade levels (PK through G12) through our cafeteria provider, EasyFood. This is an optional service and students may bring their own lunch from home.

Nido de Aguilas facilitates the safe, comfortable, and convenient transportation of students by bus to and from campus through contracted services with a private outside bus transportation provider. This service can be arranged through our transportation office. Buses service many areas of Lo Barnechea, Vitacura, and Las Condes but not La Reina, Ñuñoa, Chicureo, or Providencia. 

The Nido After School Activities (ASA) program offers a range of after school activities aimed at providing an exploratory, authentic learning environment that fosters extensive, non-competitive growth in the visual and performing arts, sciences, culture, fitness, and wellness.

The Nido Financial Aid program aims to make a Nido education accessible for families that share Nido's values and appreciate its pedagogical approach but are unable to cover the entire cost of the tuition.

There are many opportunities for parents to get involved either in the classroom or through our Nido Parent Association (NPA). The NPA aims to collaborate with our children's education and promote community spirit among all the Nido community. The NPA welcomes the involvement of all parents and encourages the sharing of ideas and previous school experiences.

Nido knows new! If you are coming in at the beginning of the semester, your child will have the opportunity to participate in the New Student Orientation. Our Counselors and Student Ambassadors are in charge of planning and organizing orientation for new students. 

If you are not starting at the beginning of the semester, teachers, counselors, student ambassadors (ES, MS, and HS), and classmates will make sure that your child has a smooth transition. 50% of our students have been new at some point!
