Student Support Services

The Student Support Department strives to achieve the Nido Mission by meeting students’ individual social, emotional, physical, and academic needs in a responsive, collaborative and inclusive environment so students can be successful. The Student Support Department believes that each child should be given the tools they need in order to reach their full potential, that all learners can succeed academically when provided with the support that targets their specific needs and that intervention and support are data-driven. Nido de Aguilas provides support in the areas of English language acquisition, academic support, and social-emotional support. If you are interested in applying to Nido, please contact the Admissions Office to inquire if your child can be supported at Nido.

Learning Resource Center

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) provides Occupational and Speech Therapy either during the school day or after school. The LRC team receives referrals from the school or directly through families who are interested in these services. Payment is made directly to the LRC team and many services may be reimbursable through Chilean or international health plans. Parents who utilize the services of the LRC agree to provide a Release of Information authorizing the school to access all records with relevant staff. The LRC staff are private contractors and are not Nido employees. For more information email nidodeaguilas.lrc@gmail.com.

Counseling and Wellness

Nido’s counselors focus on student wellbeing through our social-emotional and academic counseling services. Our Guidance and Counseling Team includes professionally trained school counselors whose mission is to provide temporary solution-focused counseling services and programming and to facilitate communication and coordination of care for individual counseling cases. Every student at Nido is assigned a counselor and this information is included in PowerSchool should any parent or guardian be interested in contacting their child’s school counselor. Students who may benefit from an additional layer of support in the areas of academics, social-emotional needs, or medical issues may be invited to participate in the Student Study Team (SST) process by their counselor. This is a multidisciplinary process that may involve counselors, families, teachers, administration, and outside specialists.
