Welcome to the Middle School at Nido de Aguilas!
Our program is designed to celebrate the unique aspects of Middle School students. We strive to meet the myriad needs of this age group by creating a challenging and supportive learning environment. Through our curricular and extra-curricular offerings, we cultivate in students a strong sense of belonging and a healthy self-esteem, so that they can advocate for themselves and recognize the important contributions they can make in their community.
Our Middle School faculty are experts in addressing the needs of 11-15 year olds. During this transitional time in their lives, we work to help students develop essential skills for life. One of my favorite quotations about Middle School students from Erik Erikson reads: “In no other stage of the life cycle, are the promises of finding oneself and the threat of losing oneself so closely allied.” These words always remind me of how unique this age group is – and how large a responsibility we assume in helping these students navigate this stage of their lives.
At the middle school level, frequent and open communication is critical. Toward this end, teachers, administrators, learning support specialists, and counselors welcome conversation with parents, as it is through this collaborative approach that our students thrive.
