Nido de Aguilas’ Early Years School Support Services strive to meet students’ individual learning needs in an inclusive, responsive, developmentally appropriate, and collaborative environment. We believe that all learners can succeed academically when provided with support targeting their specific needs, and we are committed to giving each child the tools he or she needs in order to reach his or her full potential.
We in the EYS recognize the importance of early identification of and intervention addressing learning needs and differences, and we view our role as a partner with parents in this journey. We provide a multi-tiered model of support that targets the specific needs of individual students, and we support teachers in the implementation of strategies and monitor the progress of all cases. As an international school, Nido recognizes that students bring valuable learning experiences to the classroom through their home languages and cultures, and we take those into account in assessing all learning needs and differences.
Nido’s EYS Support Services Team possesses a variety of resources to help assess and meet students' differing needs, including:
- Diagnostic evaluation of present level of performance
- Language acquisition support (especially English as a Second Language)
- Early literacy assessment
- Coordination with a Student Support Team for integrated support across multiple dimensions, including socio-emotional, and with external providers
