The Nido College Placement Coordinator advises students regarding university selection and admissions issues by:

1. Providing an environment that recognizes each person's worth in a complex multicultural, changing society, one that supports and encourages each student to reach his/her potential.
2.  Providing a program of counseling which introduces a broad range of post secondary opportunities to students.
3.  Assisting students and parents in understanding the college admission and financial aid process.
4.  Assisting students and parents to make realistic comparisons between the individual students record and abilities and the specific entrance requirement of the colleges in which the student is interested.
5.  Assisting students with developing a timeline or calendar for completing the tasks associated with the college admissions process.
6.  Maintaining a current library of college-related information.
7.  Assisting students in selecting and registering for appropriate college admissions tests, and in interpreting resulting test scores and their influence in the admission process.
8.  Maintaining of current information regarding required college entrance exams (SAT, ACT, TOEFL).
9.  Providing information about opportunities and requirements for financial aid and scholarships.
10.  Advocating on behalf of student via letters of recommendation and personal communication with college representatives.
11.  Working with college admission representatives and teams to schedule visits to the school.
12.  Encouraging student and parent participation in college fair programs, admission and financial aid workshops, and related programs.
13.  Supervising processing of evaluations, recommendations, and other forms as required in connection with college applications.
14.  Assisting students and parents with preparation for the separation process that will occur in the school to college transition.
