Nido Contemporary Singing Academy by Alicia Puccio

New this semester is an exciting partnership with Academia Alicia Puccio to provide a Contemporary Singing Academy at Nido.

Classes will be taught by their highly-skilled instructors, who will also offer workshops to further develop the students' musical interests: Contemporary Singing, Creation and Improvisation, Repertoire, and Functional Guitar. The program is open to the entire Nido community as well as those outside of Nido, and will conclude each term with group and individual presentations to showcase what was learned. Groups will be split according to age.

Registration and payment for Grades 1-8 is done through the After School Activities (ASA) process through PowerSchool. For High School students, parents, and those interested from outside of Nido please contact for registration and payment information.

Interested but not certain? Join a free trial class on Saturday, August 19 at 10am in Arts Building Room 103. The trial class will feature a conversation with current students and a performance.

When: Saturdays, 10am-12pm

Where: Arts Building Room 103

Open to: Grades 1 -12 and beyond (HS students and parents should contact for more information and to register)

Cost: $210.000 per semester course (Nido Students); $250.000 per semester course (Nido Parents); $280.000 per semester course (Non-Nido Community)


The 21 National Plan students who recently sat for the PSU (Prueba de Selección Universitaria) earned Nido the 20th spot in the top 100 schools in Chile for PSU rankings.

High School Principal Announcement

Nido recently conducted a worldwide search to select a High School Principal for the 2018-2019 academic year and is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kate McKenna to the position of High School Principal beginning in July 2018.

We are pleased to announce the application period for Nido's financial aid program is now open for families wishing to apply for the 2018-2019 school year.

Headmaster Transition

The Board of Directors at the International School Nido de Aguilas has announced that Dr. Ralph Maurer will be departing Nido with his family in December 2017, and Assistant Headmaster and High School Principal David Perry will become Acting Headmaster.

Nido Featured by WIDA

Nido was the focus school of the month in WIDA's November newsletter. Several faculty members at Nido have actively participated in WIDA research for developing new tools to further guide instruction and assessment with early learners in international settings.

Outdoor Education in the EYS

Throughout the year the EYS has different learning opportunities that allow students and teachers to utilize the back hills of Nido's campus to extend the learning to the outdoors.
