There is a renewed energy and spirit that comes along with the beginning of each season and as I begin my twenty-third year at Nido, I can promise that we will continue to work hard to create an environment that creates excellence with the best positive experience for all.
High School Athletics
Nido's High School Athletics Programs are competitive both locally and in the South American Activities Conference (SAAC), and we regularly host tournaments and competitions at our athletic facilities, including our world-class Aquatics Center. Nido offers a wide variety of seasonal sports at both the junior varsity and varsity levels, and our coaching staff excels at developing in our students both athletic talent and a healthy and positive attitude toward athletic competition and performance. Wellness is an important component of Nido's athletics program, and we discuss nutrition, rest, and recovery with students to complement the exercise component of their physical training.
Although Nido athletes are very talented and competitive, they are taught to value sportsmanship, perseverance, teamwork, and spirit above the scoreboard. Parents of athletes also commit to supporting this approach, and we are as proud to receive a letter praising our students' behavior and character on a tournament trip as we are when they win the tournament.
Together with the Nido Alumni Association, Nido is pleased to announce the launch of the new Nido de Aguilas Athletic Hall of Fame.
Mr. Madden's 7th and 8th Grade P.E. classes recently wrapped up a 6-week Sports Education Unit (Invasion Games) culminating in the Eagle Cup finals of their Champions League.
This past weekend Nido de Aguilas hosted a memorable and wonderful Cheerleading and Dance Camp with more than 25 teams from 12 local schools participating in our gymnasium and Fine Arts Building to learn the latest skills and dance moves.
On Saturday, April 8th the Aquatics Center hosted four big events. Our student athletes from ES, MS, and HS demonstrated their great skills, passion and team spirit.
