Welcome to our High School!
Thank you for visiting the high school page of the Nido de Aguilas website. Here families will find information about our academic program, co-curricular activities, and both athletic and artistic offerings. We also hope that they will see in the words and images something of the spirit of the place.
In our High School, students encounter a warm and welcoming community ready to accept them as they are and to nurture them to become their best selves. Our classes are taught by some of the most talented and committed teachers on the planet; classrooms are alive with student-centered discussions held around oval tables designed so that everyone can see each other. The tables are more than pieces of furniture: their unique shape requires students to play an active role in the learning process. Teachers guide students, but rarely lecture, and students are accountable to each other — they learn by discussing their thoughts and ideas rather than just by taking notes.
Further, when I visit classrooms, one of the first things I notice is an authentic sense of affection between the students and their teachers. It is also important to know that while there are many languages spoken on our diverse campus, no matter which one a student speaks, there will be others who want to hear what they have to say; if students are willing to work hard, they can graduate from Nido fluent in at least two languages. In this and other ways, we prepare students for life in a world with fading borders. Students also have programmatic choice in that, in addition to our own diploma, we also offer both a Chilean National Diploma and the International Baccalaureate Diploma. All of this is in an effort to place every student in the best college or university for his or her goals. We are connected with superb higher education programs around the world, and we make sure they know and understand graduates of a Nido education.
Finally, while visiting this page, take in the pictures and note how beautiful it is here. The snow-capped mountains seem close enough to touch, and our open campus blends in perfectly with the landscape. The smiles on the faces you see are real as, above all else, this is a joyous place to be.
Thank you again for your time and attention. Please feel free to contact me (email@example.com) with any questions.
